It includes four steps.

1. Find a Web server

You should put the website on such a computer that is running a web server program and is connected to Internet. You have three choices.

1. Your own server: you should hire a system administrator which is responsible for system maintenance, backups, software updates and security. High speed communication link to Internet is required. It is being practiced in large organizations.

2. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider): many ISPs also provide you web space along with dial up connection to Internet. The problem is storage space is too small and monthly transfer allowance is limited A Web host provider. There are many companies that sell Web site space on their servers. These companies offer three grades of service:

Free hosting: The banner ads displayed on your own website, hosting service makes money. Storage space is too small and monthly transfer allowance is limited.

shared hosting: A server is shared with many other websites. There could be too many websites on each server which slows down the system.

Dedicated hosting: There is a separate server for you web site alone. It costs hundred of dollars per month.

Recommendations: small business can't afford a dedicated server. One can use ISPs web space or free host for learning purpose. You have to register and promote your own domain name. Visit several of host directories and chose a web host provider along with good rating and time up of 99.99 % guarantee.

2. Design and build website: Collection of web pages is known as web site. Web pages are like documents created in word processor. A word processor use invisible tags to design the page. Word uses rich text file (RTF) tags and Hyper text markup language (HTML) but concept is the same.

Three reasons why to use HTML code directly:

1. Your web page design application refuses to format the webpage exactly the way you want it.

2. There is an error on your webpage.

3. Most word processor documents are static. A webpage usually contains powerful little programs called "scripts" that work with the html tags on the page.
