I am thinking of selling up my Audi A4 convertible and buying a more practical car for the winter, maybe even something with 4 wheel drive. With the harsh winters we have been having it would make sense to get something that can plough through snow. I’ve been looking at used cars in Spalding, I’m a firm believer that buying a brand new car is too much of a waste of money. I always buy used cars, 6-12 months old with low mileage. This time I’m thinking of not spending all my money from the sale of the Audi A4, instead I might just buy a car for £4,000 and put the rest aside for a track day car. I’ve always wanted a track day car, a Lotus Elise would be ideal. Also, with premium cars the service and maintenance costs are really high. With a cheaper car I should have smaller maintenance bills, and if I do get bored I can always trade it in and get a new car on finance. The track day car has really got me excited, I’ll need some training and a trailer but that can all be arranged. What if I got a car that can be used on the road as well as the track, thinking about it a Lotus Elise can actually fill both my needs! So I won’t need two cars and can afford to get proper training and a better track day car, result.
