ITBP is the abbreviation of Indo Tibetan Border Police. This is an Indian Force that has been allocated the task of the protection of the border of Autonomous Region of China.

It is also considered to be among the Central Armed Police Forces. The training to the candidates for this position is given in a Civil Medical Camp. It is also given along disaster management in nuclear, chemical and biological calamities. These ITBP personnel are sent abroad for the purpose of UN peacekeeping missions. There has been a great demand of ITBP recruitment. Lately, a huge expansion plan has been carried out for offering more relief to the troops who have been deployed in high altitude and harsh lands for better part of their services. A 100,000 mark has been crossed by the number of ITBP personnel.

There is a conduction of recruitment for this post every year. Any citizen of India who has fulfilled the criteria can surely apply for this post. Applications have to be sent by interested applicants. All details have to be filled in it. This should be either in English or in Hindi. Along with the application form, there must be attested documents such as educational certificate, birth certificate and scheduled caste certificate. Issue cards are provided to eligible candidates of the Indo Tibetan Border Police for sitting for the test. There is a provision of venue and date in the admit card that has been issued to candidates.

Selection Process:

After the eligibility of documents, various criteria have to be met by the candidate. A measurement of weight, chest and head is taken. The candidates who fail in physical measurement have to be eliminated. A written exam is the next procedure. It includes general knowledge, essay writing and general English. The questions are all objective types. They can be written in English or Hindi. 45 percent marks are required as they are the minimum marks for any examination. However, there is a 5 percent concession given to the ST and SC candidates.


Other Required tests for ITBP Recruitment:

If the candidates have passed this written exam, they have to sit and appear for a skill test. This will also include a typing test on a computer for checking the speed. 35 words per minute is the speed that is required by the English typing. For Hindi, the limit is 30 words per minute. The time period is 10 minutes. A person should have a fundamental knowledge computer mainly in MS excel, Power Point and Word. This will not be a qualifying exam. However, the marks that are gained will also be added to the merit list. The next procedure involves an interview for the verification of personal bearing, response, aptitude and general intelligence level. Then, candidates will be sent for medical examination for evaluating the fitness before the preparation of merit list.

The major training center for ITBP recruitment is located as Uttarakhand. Training is offered to the subordinates as well as officers. Promotional courses are also offered.
