if you require a printer that can print out lots of documents quickly and economically, then using a printer that uses ink toner is the way to go.
Ink toner is one of the types of ink used in laser printers. The size of an ink toner cartridge is a lot larger then the ink cartridges that are used in the inkjet printers people use in their houses. They are built to last longer and be more cost effective in the long term. People mostly use the larger machines for a laser printer and ink toners for printing out a lot of documents in black and white. The larger the printer, usually the faster it prints and at a lower overall cost of ownership.

One surprising thing about ink toner is that it is not filled with actual liquid ink but instead with a powder called toner. That is where the name ink toner comes from. It is the ink toner that is fed into the printer. When the first laser printers came to market, the toner was mainly made up of carbon and it was directly fed into the printer by hand. These days its much more efficient to have the ink toner stored within the ink cartridge and fed mechanically when it runs out and a new one is required.

When a document is printer, the ink toner is placed onto the paper through heat and contact. There is a drum inside the printer that has an electrical charge running through it. The toner is attracted to this charged drum and then the laser places an image onto the drum. Every location where the laser hits is also given a charge, preventing the ink toner from being attracted to that part of the drum. The image that is placed on the drum is an exact opposite version of what you will see on the paper. This is also called a negative. The toner adheres to the drum until it is forced onto the paper using the heat from the laser. This process reverses the electrical charge and makes the toner release onto the paper as it rolls across the drum. This process bonds the ink toner to the paper being fed.

One question that arises is how to remove ink toner if it spills or gets on your hands or clothes. Good news is that it is easily cleaned off as long as you don't allow the ink toner get hot. Cool or cold ink toner powder can be removed with simple ingredients like household soap and water. So if you do get some your pants or skirt, you only need to wash it in cold water and you should have no problem getting it fully out of your clothes.

Now if the ink toner powder is spilled into your printer, there are special vacuums to help suck it out. The vacuums actually have an electrical charge that attracts the ink toner powder to them. This is much more efficient than a regular vacuum that only sucks the air. Be careful that the toner does not sit in the main section of the printer, as it can damage the electronics.
