Is it worth the Journey coming to the Asian Games?

Unfortunately, the official website does not include a list of prices per event so you'll just have to get that yourself should you book.
Let's see how we can buy Guangzhou Asian games tickets. There are three ways for us to get a ticket.

1. Buying Guangzhou Asian Games tickets online. Official ticketing website for the Asian Games in Guangzhou: tickets.gz2010.cn. Information on how to order tickets online is at the official website.
Available payment options for ordering tickets online:
- Credit and debit cards for six Chinese banks (ICBC bank, Agricultural Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, China Construction Bank, China Minsheng Bank, and Bank of Communications) are accepted, but you must first set up online banking for your account
- Major Overseas credit cards such as Visa or MasterCard are also accepted, but you must also first open a service verifying transactions in foreign currencies

2. Buying tickets through authorized vendors
400 ICBC Bank branches (including those in Macau) are authorized to sell tickets for the games; there are no extra fees for processing purchase of tickets. If you're looking to pay for your tickets in cash, you must first set up a savings account with the ICBC bank to do so.

3. Ticketing information hotline for the Asian Games Organizing Committee
86 020 1258088 (China Mobile and China Unicom mobile users)
020 12580 (ext. 88) (China Telecom and China Tie tong mobile users)
Home delivery of the tickets is scheduled to start in October

But the prices of the games are another matter. Unfortunately, the official website does not include a list of prices per event so you'll just have to get that yourself should you book. However, the announced price range is between 10 and 400 RMB, with the lowest range being for students only. You should expect some reasonably-priced events, and many in the upper echelon. The first two rounds of ticket sales are long since over, but in early October (the date has not been announced) they start the last round of sales which will offer over two million tickets. Expect them to go faster than mooncakes at Mid-Autumn Festival.

Promising enough? Exciting enough? Convenient enough? Those of us in Guangzhou don't have to ask as many questions since we're right here. We can buy a few tickets to a game of our liking and then stay camped up inside the rest of the crowded month. Although Guangzhou missed out on an Olympics bid two years ago, it is making it up in spades with the Asian Games and putting up all it has to offer. That includes the Cantonese version of the Olympic spirit. It is an extremely attractive offer, if you have the patience for the millions of extra travelers.
