Jigging is a saltwater and freshwater fishing techniques used to do if you are fishing in the area that has sea depth of approximately 30 to 100 meters. Commonly, this fishing technique uses metal bait on jigs stretched into the water by shaking vertically so that seems moving up and down actively attracting predatory fishes to eat.
Although jigging technique is generally done at the seashore, but some anglers do at the freshwater area such as: lakes in America and Europe. Targeted fishes of jigging technique are Giant Trevally, Baracuda, Marlin and other predatory fishes.

1. Fishing rod or hard taper. Actually, the use soft or medium taper is less precise because it will make bait jigs become too flexible when shaken in the water.
2. The next tackle is a string set that has high power specification. By using this string, your bait can withstand strongly when pulled. In addition to save your targeted fish when hooked, you should use your power at least 20 lbs. It is better to use multi-filament string types, which are not easily tangled up when you pull them.
3. Metal jig baits. They are currently available in various shapes, colors and weights. For saltwater fishing, there are ranged from 60, 80, 100 and 200 grams. Type and size of jig baits should be adopted with your targeted fishes. However, some anglers generally prefer to use 100 grams. We recommend that you use good and new hooks every time fishing at the sea. Jig bait consists of head and body that can have round, cone and other shapes. The head part is tied to hooks, which should be balanced with baits. Meanwhile, body of bait is usually made of waterproof rubber or silicone materials. It can have form like tassel fringe, rubber fish or other interesting forms.
Jigs materials used in freshwater fishing can also use natural materials such as: pony tail hairs shaped similar to small animal or other various kinds of insects. Although baits have many attractive colors, but actually useless in the water. Shiny silver color or fluorescent colors will precisely attract more fishes.
Jigging is very enjoyable if done by noticing the security. Modern devices, such as: fish finder, should be considered to avoid overfishing. Although the main purpose of fishing is to catch fish, jigging must also consider the nature conservation.
