The attention span in children has reduced while the use of a pen and pencil has also come to an abrupt halt. The impact of technology is an imperative aspect for parents to catch up with so that they can assist their children.

There is also an urgent need for parents to become aware of the latest in computers and IT so that they can be of some help to their children when they are taking lessons in computers. It is also important for parents to be high tech. Parents also feel frustrated when they can’t help their children when they want to. The fact that they can’t help tier children with a particular subject or preparing for a professional exam hurts them just as much, but since they can’t do very much the least they can do is to put their children on to private coaching as soon as possible to get the “feel good” feeling that they finally did something for them. Some parents try and compensate on another level by giving their children extra attention on the levels they know better or in subject areas that they are more familiar with.

This also makes them feel that they have contributed after all, even if it isn’t in the right direction. Parents feel bad the most when they know what their child needs is vital for their child’s professional growth but they can’t do anything about it. It pains them when they don’t know whether a particular tutor should be hired or not or are they just playing the fool for the bucks. That’s the parental woe most parents undergo when they see their struggle with academic subjects that they didn’t have to worry much about in their days.
