CCSVI is a term used for a condition in which there is a compromised flow of blood in the veins that further results in the draining of the central nervous system. This condition has been found to result in multiple sclerosis. The CCSVI condition is caused by Stenosis, which is narrowing of the veins that are used to drain human’s blood from the spine and brain.
Chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) is used to describe a condition in which there is a blockage in the internal jugular or azygous veins that causes inadequate blood flow from the brain and spine. The compromised flow of the blood in the in the veins results in the draining of the central nervous system leading to cause brain deterioration and long term damage that is referred as Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Paolo Zamboni of University of Ferrara in Italy has put forward this hypothesis in June 2009 after studying approximately 65 patients. To prevent the regressive effect of CCSVI it is important to go for CCSVI screening

CCSVI Testing Program

Magnetic Resonance Venography for Detecting CCSVI

Magnetic Resonance Venography or MRV is a specialized type of generic Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which is carried out for detecting CCSVI. To carry out MRV a specialized machine is used to that bombards the vascular system and the magnetic field reflection determines the reading registered. If the vein along with the blood flow is normal then a specific image would result and if there is a blockage or any damage in the vein then the composition is registered by the machine. Performing MRV for detecting CCSVI requires experience as proper placement of the body part as well as the proper frequency of the magnetic field is essential to get the proper reading and this can only be carried out by an experienced technician.

Doppler Ultrasound for CCSVI

Doppler ultrasound is performed by an experienced and trained radiologist or technician who have obtained training in the detection of truncal venous malformations. This ultrasound take approximately sixty to ninety minutes in which a hand-held instrument is passed over the skin that produces an image of the blood flow through the targeted blood vessels.

CCSVI Screening in India

India has become a leading destination for CCSVI screening and Multiple Sclerosis treatment as some world-class hospitals in India have geared up to offer CCSVI screening and treatment at a very reasonable cost. A leading Indian based medical facilitation company has revealed that innumerable number of queries are coming from Multiple Sclerosis patients of U.S and Canada. The great number of patients who have undergone the Liberation Treatment in India have obtained good outcomes and are extremely satisfied with the treatment. Therefore more and more patients of Multiple Sclerosis are now planning to undergo CCSVI screening in India.
