After all, did you set out a milestone for the major journey with no real idea of destination? Probably not! A milestone is a desired result a person or a system envisions plans and commits to achieve—a personal or organizational desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.
It is roughly similar to purpose or aim, the anticipated result which guides reaction, or an end, which is an object, either a physical object or an abstract object, that has intrinsic value. Milestone or Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about an ideal future, and for motivating a person to turn this vision of the future into a reality. The process of setting milestone or goals helps to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You'll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray.
Milestone or Goal setting is used by top achievers in all fields. Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge, and helps to organize the time and resources so that to make the life most success full. By setting up sharp, clear and defined milestones/goals, the result will be forward progress in what might previously have seemed naught. The level of self-confidence and competence level increased for achieving the milestones/goals.
The milestones should be designed in such a big picture of what you want to get in life and for that small step are designed for achieving that big picture.The milestones that have set are ones that you genuinely want to achieve, not ones that your parents, family, or employers might want.

• Express your goals positively
• Set precise goals, putting in dates, times and amounts so that measurement can be possible.
• Priorities should be made according to which goal should be taken first.
• The operational goals should be small and achievable. If small operational goals become big then achievement of the main goal is not possible.
• The goal should be realistic that which you can achieve.
• It's also possible to set goals that are too difficult because you might not appreciate either the obstacles in the way or understand how much skill you need to develop to achieve a particular level of performance.
After achievement of a milestone, enjoy the satisfaction of having done so and move further for achieving new milestones.
