I got onto the internet to do some research and stumbled on very useful information. Apparently the formatted pictures on my memory card are recoverable. Pictures stored on a memory card can be recovered through various techniques. In normal cases, when a photo is deleted from a cameras memory card, it is not entirely deleted by the camera. It is normally hidden away for a short period and overwritten when new data arrives. The moment i realized that I had lost my photos, I immediately removed my memory card from the camera so that no new photos could arrive and override the ones trying to be recovered.
