For all those students who are aiming at prospective careers, it is important to know that there is a vast area of opportunity through the CET 2012 exams. Since most of the students are interested to get into admissions in the medical and engineering and other technical courses, the Common Entrance Test or CET is being conducted.

By this term is meant that the admission can be done in the different streams after clearing one single entrance exam by appearing in the respective subjects. So, this means that there will be one entrance test for different courses and there will be different set of questions for the subjects which are chosen by the candidates.

There are many benefits of conducting the common entrance tests for many courses and therefore the CET 2012 is being favoured by a lot of states.

-Though there are many reasons, the most common advantage for the states for conducting the test for all the courses in one go, is that of logistics.

-Also, the students are benefitted because they will have to sit in one exam and appear in different courses in one sitting without any worries of appearing in the exams at a later date.

-Various states have already been primed to conduct such tests because they can carry out the entrance in a day or two and many of the questions are also the same, except those papers which are required to be different depending on the courses selected.

So, the students appearing in engineering and those appearing for medical exams will have the same questions in the physics and chemistry, while the biology and maths paper will be different. Those who have opted for engineering will sit for the maths paper, and students wishing for medical seats will have to appear in the biology papers. Such logistic benefits have driven many states to have the engineering and medical as well as agriculture and architecture entrance exams in one test for admissions to all the colleges present in the state. The CET 2012 is therefore being presented as one of the most opted tests with benefits for both the students as well as the organising authorities.

There is also the common entrance test for the MBA admissions. In states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, etc, the admissions into various business schools is being done through the CET in the respective states. The students can appear in the CET 2012 and go for the colleges according to their wish and ranks. There is no need any more, to appear for the entrance tests by the individual colleges and the colleges are also not required conducting entrance exams for their own admissions.

Sometimes it has been seen that a similar pattern of examination is conducted by a few states but they are termed with a different specific name and are not known as CET or common entrance test. Now that the system of examination has become easier, students need to put all their efforts in a single exam and appear for the entrance exams. They should take up the advantage of such a trend and take admissions in whichever stream they are interested in.
