A remote controlled car is a toy whose movement is controlled through a transmitter. They are battery operated model cars which are used by children.

They are also referred to as RC cars meaning remote controlled cars, but in recent times this term is used for radio controlled cars also. The remote controlled cars are joined to the transmitter through a wire. There are two categories of RC cars off road and on road cars. Off road vehicles have wide tires and have an off road suspension which is fully functional. They can be used on a terrain of different types. On road vehicles have a less strong suspension and can be used only on paved and smooth surfaces. Many on road versions, in recent times have a very adjustable suspension like the normal full sized cars. These cars are available in a very wide range with different features for each car and variable power backup. There are a number of manufacturers, importers and exporters who are in to this business. China is among the biggest manufacturer of these cars. Some of the manufacturers have online stores which maintain the types, price range and quantity in stock of each of these cars. The companies selling these cars offer good discounts and also deliver them at home.
A normal remote controlled car has four components as mentioned below. The most important component is a transmitter, which is held in the hand and sends out signals to the car whenever intended to do so. A circuit board inside the car and an antenna attached to a car activate the motor inside whenever a signal is received from the transmitter. There is a power source which makes the car move around. The power source is a normal battery or a rechargeable one. The last component is a motor which can turn the wheels in any direction, operate propellers, steer the car around mainly but many other features are also available. Remote controlled cars can attain very high speed and can do a lot of antics or movements which can amaze anyone. The RC cars are available in 2 varieties. The first variety is a "toy grade" RC car and the second variety is a "hobby grade" RC car which is available in the market. The remote controlled cars are available in the market in two forms. One is the assembling kit form where we can assemble the various parts of the car our self and complete customize it. The second form is the Ready to Run (RTR) form wherein the car is completely ready to use when taken out of the box. The RTR cars are available in two versions the nitro fuelled one and electrically operated one. They can attain a speed of 80 miles per hour. It is commonly believed that the assembled or customized cars reach higher speeds than ready to run cars. If we wish to make our own car with unique features then we should choose a car which has more number of parts and accessories which allows us to design better.
