The Samsung Galaxy Note has been strategically positioned between a standard sized smartphone and a tablet device. Looking at the numbers, this move seems to have paid off for Samsung.

It has been obviously a very bold move on the part of the South Korean mobile phone giant. To launch a mega sized smartphone industry where similar attempts have not clicked at all. Samsung has done a good job of doing the home work as the actual need and extent of a smartphone handset that is almost a tablet device when it comes to the screen size and has gone ahead. Now, the initial numbers vindicate its decision beyond an iota of doubt.
Samsung ships one million units of the Galaxy Note!
While the Samsung Galaxy Note handset itself was officially launched in November, 2011, it was only towards the end of December, 2011 that Samsung made this announcement that made the entire mobile phone industry along with the countless smartphone users sit up and take notice. Samsung informed on its Flickr page that it is shipping no less than one million units of the Galaxy Note device straight away.
Now, you really need not be an industry expert to realize that Samsung would have made this decision only if the initial sales reports of the Samsung Galaxy Note and other feedback that it is able to generate were encouraging enough. After all, one million units for a nearly a tablet kind of smartphone is indeed a big, big number to go for, whichever way look at it.
