Other celebrities who have reputations as marijuana users include Seth Rogan, James Franco, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Justin Timberlake, Kimora Lee Simmons, Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dog, Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Charlize Theron, Matthew MaConaughey, Sarah Silverman, Oliver Stone, Dave Chapelle, and, yes – even world-renowned diva Barbra Streisand.
Rebel Rok – a start-up trendy t-shirt company out of Bronx, New York – is proving that business success is rooted in the basics: a basic understanding of sub-cultures and human motivations. For Rebel Rok, alternative sub-culture and uniformity aren’t as divergent as one might think. Instead, the Rebel Rok philosophy is rooted in the belief that personal expression can lead to mass adaptation.

Rebel Rok’s signature t-shirt design is controversial for many; it’s a derivative of the international recycling symbol emblazoned with the moniker of Go Greene. Go Greene is a pro-marijuana movement that is taking force around the country.

Through the Go Greene movement, Rebel Rok is spreading the word that marijuana use isn’t isolated to a particular sub-culture of people, as some might suggest. Indeed, marijuana use is becoming increasingly accepted for medical purposes (medical marijuana is legal in 13 U.S. states) and is becoming increasingly ubiquitous in mainstream media – thanks, in part, to celebrity users like Frances McDormand who posed for the cover of marijuana aficionado magazine “High Times.”

Other celebrities who have reputations as marijuana users include Seth Rogan, James Franco, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Justin Timberlake, Kimora Lee Simmons, Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dog, Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Charlize Theron, Matthew MaConaughey, Sarah Silverman, Oliver Stone, Dave Chapelle, and, yes – even world-renowned diva Barbra Streisand.

Through t-shirt their company, Rebel Rok promotes free expression and encourages individuals to take a stand on issues they believe in. The Go Greene movement is largely supported not only by individual who enjoy using recreational marijuana, but also by people who believe in legalizing recreational marijuana and ensuring the nationwide availability of medical marijuana for qualifying medical patients.

However, while many Go Greene supporters believe in all three causes, some believe that marijuana should be restricted to medical use alone. Go Greene does not discriminate amongst its supporters with differing opinions on how marijuana should be used or legalized. Instead, the movement supports all viewpoints that advance the ubiquity of marijuana use.

“Go Greene is just one of the expressions that we’ve created and cater to,” said Rebel Rok founder Menes Morris. “We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to freely express themselves and have designed comfortable and trendy t-shirts around those expressions.” Morris also said that the company accepts suggestions for designs and expressions to include in their suite of offerings.
