Tata Nano new Avatars - Diesel, Electric and Automatic

Tata Nano- the people's car has been gathering limelight eversince its launch.

However other continuous launches by its contenders has kept Nano on its toes. To maintain its popularity and presence in the Indian market, Tata Nano will offer itself in diesel, automatic and electric soon.

Industry sources confirm the launch of diesel variant of Tata Nano in the near future which has been spotted on test tracks in Mumbai-Pune. This variant will be powered by a 800 cc common rail turbocharged twin cylinder engine which has been developed by the German diesel engine pros FEV.

It has been revealed that the upcoming Tata Nano diesel would give a mileage of around 25 kmpl and come with additional features which may add some zeros to its price tag. Another news that has been doing rounds in the auto industry is that Tata would launch Tata Nano AT and Tata Nano electric in the future. This is being seen as an intelligent move since the small wonder which is seen as an easy conveyance to move from A to B, will become even more of a joy to ride with the automatic transmission. Women drivers, as is generally noticed, will enjoy and prefer the handy and automatic Nano.

Moving on to Tata motors which gave birth to the small wonder. Tata Motors intends to become a 4 billion dollars company within ten years. With the markets in China and US contracting, India is being seen as a feasible and prosperous market for auto industry to grow. Shifting our focus from what the company wants to what it has, Tata Motors launched its first ever MPV, Tata Aria on the 11th of October. Tired of being looked at as a Taxi/cab manufacturer, Tata wanted to put itself in the luxury car segment and hence gave India, Tata Aria. The engine in the new model from Tata is a 2.2 L, DICOR CRDI diesel engine that does its duty in Tata Safari. The powerful Tata Aria churns 140 PS and develops a torque of 320 Nm via new Mark II gearbox.
Another variant in the Tata pipeline is the Tata Nano electric which is hoped to see the light soon. It seems Tata Nano is leaving no opporutinity to get attention and might we add, it sure is succeeding !
