• Size of your card: Each card should not just pass your standard but that of the postal service as well if you are thinking of having a mailer campaign. Postal services nowadays have given companies enough room for accommodation even if these cards are not properly sized. Here are two of the widely accepted sizes to consider when printing your cards:
5 x 7 inches and 4 x 9 inches
• Paper: In printing your cards for promotional purposes, the quality of the paper is far most important. The paper must be of good quality but at the same time not too expensive as this may eat a big chunk of your budget. By making sure that it is durable enough to endure harmful elements and other factors such as tear and water that would be a good choice already. Other companies would prefer their cards to be thicker than the usual cards because they are looking towards its shelf life. If your card is attractive, chances are it will catch a lot of attention and people are interested in passing it on and would therefore generate more sales for your company.
• Coating: You may choose to have a glossy or matte finish. Coating will make a difference on your card but to save on cost, always choose what will suit your card’s concept best. Some companies would prefer their cards to have a glossy finish for an extra appeal while others would want it to have a matte finish to complement with their theme or concept. Here are the standard items for coating your cards:
a. Two sides coated – If you want to have a more durable card, some companies are advised to have both sides coated with a glossy finish.
b. One side coated – The cover of the card will be the only side with glossy finish.
c. No coating – the card will not have any coating on it.
• Color printing choices: for an extra appeal, some cards are printed in full colors. Printing it in full colors is one way of attracting your customers but it can get expensive too. Asking your artist for some help on this area would do the trick. They are good at choosing colors that easily standout.
