In a remote town of German, there lived a couple who get married for many years but have no children. They saw the doctors everywhere, but had no result. Finally, they had to ask a local priest for advice.
Kindly priest said: “My child, you go to pray! God will bless you.” After listening to the pastor, the couple prayed devoutly every day. However, after a few months, they have no changes, so they went to see the priest.
Pastor thought a moment and said: “Well, I would go to Florence in a few days. When I visit the local church, I will point a candle to pray for you.” The couple thanked the priest very much. When they were preparing to leave, the priest said: “God bless you all the best! I want to stay in Florence for a long time, probably for fifteen years. So when I come back, I will visit you.”
Fifteen years later, the priest returned to the town. One evening, the priest suddenly remembered the promise of fifteen years ago, so he comes to the house of the couple, rang the hand bell.
The door opened. There came kids’ shrill voice crying and screaming from the room. The priest felt ears have been deafened, but happy to think: well, it seems that the candles do play a role. He was smiling into the door. He saw a small room, with two bunk bed, and a dozen large and small, bedraggled children occupy almost the entire space. In front of the bed, a disheveled and worried woman stood there.
Pastor pointed to the children, and was very proud to say: “Thank God that he blesses you.” Woman smile listlessly:”Yes.” Priest looked a bit around and asked: “Where is your husband? I would like to congratulate him!”
“He has gone to Florence.” The woman answered. “Florence? Why does he go there?” the pastor said curiously. The woman glared at him and impatiently exclaimed:”He went to blow out candles that you point!”
