Here, I would like to discuss two basic topics of mathematics that is factoring trinomials and simplifying radicals. Before discussing factoring trinomials I would like to discuss about Multiplication and Factorization. You may be familiar with these terms, multiplication is simply a repetitive addition while factorization is defined as reverse of multiplication that is repetitive subtraction. Or we can say that Factorization is a method of finding all possible numbers that can be multiplied and we get this number. For example, if we have to factorize 6, you simply write all the possible numbers that can be multiplied by 6 i.e. 1,2.3,6 and these are all possible factors of 6.
Now, I will explain you what is factoring trinomials. It is defined as finding two binomials that when multiplied together will produce or gives trinomial. Trinomial are of many forms, but there is a single method of factoring them. Some example of factoring trinomial include difference of squares, perfect square trinomial or trial and error. Before factorizing any trinomial always find out the greatest common factor.
Let us now move on to the topic of simplifying radical expressions. Simplifying means finding another expression with the same value. It does not mean finding a decimal approximation. Simplifying means reducing the radicals in the smallest form like finding square roots. Simplifying a Radical Expression can involve variables as well as numbers. Just as we simplify a number to its smallest form we can do the same with variables. For example:- when the radical is a square root, you should try to find the terms whose power is raised to a multiple of 2 like 2, 4, 6, 8, and so on. And when the radical is a Cube root, you should try to obtain those terms that are a multiple of three like 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.
