Many times muslin is used as it is known to absorb the paint better. The frame is generally made up of lumber or steel tubes shaped rectangular and at right angles to the lid above.
The lid should preferably not hang over the wooden frame by greater than three inches and the frame internally should be less than two feet apart. Platforms like these use 2x4 legs within the frame below the lid and a cleat holds the frame. Steel platforms are provided with brackets to fix the legs built out of steel pipes.
