China-US Joint Commission on Commerce vice-ministerial level meeting of the Working Group on Intellectual Property Rights is held on November 18 in Washington. Chong Quan who is the deputy representative of Chinese Ministry of Commerce International trade negotiations, and Marantis who is representative of the U.S. Trade Representative Office, deputy director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office deputy director Sharon held the meeting together. And U.S. White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator, Victoria, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the experts from relevant departments of China and the U.S. government and industry representatives from both sides, they had a the full exchange and communication on the Internet, protection of intellectual property, copyright, trademark and intellectual property enforcement issues, and to enhance intellectual property Point consensus achieve mutual co-operation. Both sides believe that to strengthen and improve protection of intellectual property continuously will be conducive to stable and healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations, both sides will continue to strengthen the intellectual property protection in the field of capacity building, industry dialogue, genuine software, the Internet, to combat cross-border crimes.
Chong Quan introduced the special action that China carries out the nationwide campaign to crack down the infringement of intellectual property and selling counterfeit and shoddy goods, he said that China will adopt specific actions to further improve the long-term mechanism of IPR protection. China understands the concerns that U.S. industry on intellectual property, it is China building an innovative country's urgent needs to strengthen IPR protection. China and the U.S. should try to find the balance of intellectual property protection, to further promote the cooperation of China-US on IPR protection.
Marantis and other people show the highly appreciated to China to carry out special operations of Intellectual Property Protection, hope to further strengthen cooperation with China, an effective solution to their concerns and promote the cooperation of US-China economic and trade.
From the Chinese Supreme Court, Supreme Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Customs General Administration(wholesale products), Business Administration, Copyright Bureau and other departments and some representatives of Internet companies and U.S. government departments and business representatives attended the meeting.
Chong Quan also met the U.S. Trade Representative Kirk, the Ministry of Commerce General Counsel John Kerry, the U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals Chief Justice Reed, president of US-China Business Council Qiangen Fu and other people on 17 in Washington(china electronics).
