Travelling to Victoria Falls is an exciting adventure, but it is best to plan ahead. If you choose to fly to Livingstone, or even to Victoria Falls itself, it is important to arrange for transport. Transfers from Livingstone to Vic Falls or from Victoria Falls Airport to the town itself can be arranged ahead of time or once you have arrived. Once you are in the town of Victoria Falls, it is easy to get around as most amenities are within walking distance of each other.

There are a couple of options to choose from when you consider getting around once you arrive. Your first option would be to rent a car. This is for the more independent traveller but can be quite costly and nerve-racking if you are not confidant driving in a different country. Available at airports and main hotels. Documentation: International Driving Permit or national licence (for up to 90 days); if not in English it must be accompanied by a certificate of authority or translation of text. Another option is a transfer organised by your hotel or accommodation provider. The best would be to ask about transfers when you book your accommodation.

If you prefer flying by the seat of your pants, then you can look for a taxi at the airport, but this can also be quite expensive.

You need to take note that when you land in Livingstone, you are in Zambia which means that if you need to be in the town of Victoria Falls, you are going to have to cross the border into Zimbabwe. Make sure all your travel documents are in order. Transfer companies assist you from one border post to the next or you can opt for a meet and greet service at the airport.

In Victoria Falls and Livingstone, there are various transport services you can make use of to take you around. It is also safe (and small enough) to walk around both towns, just remember it can get very hot during the day, so take this into account. As in all places you don't know well, it is best not to walk around at night, especially since wildlife can also be present in town centre.

In Victoria Falls there is a free shuttle service running hourly from most hotels to the centre of town and the Falls, the other hotels and the Falls themselves so getting around Victoria Falls is really very easy. You can also take a tour, or rent a bicycle - all of which depends on the type of adventure you would like to have on your visit to this beautiful place.
