Western movies have been the favourite of many and continue to do so till today. Most of these movies portray the way of life in the Wild West and often tell the stories about cowboys and Indians.

Although the earlier ones used to show Indians as the bad guys, later this trend changed and no such speculations were made. It was just a story of fight between the good and the bad guys who were behind the Gold. Sometimes the town was completely taken over by the bad guys, which was followed by an energetic gun fight.
The era of western movies began around nineteen sixty and is still going on positively. They showcased lawless cities and tough men coping with their temper. Most of the movies included gun fighters and saloon because those were the most common things in the west. Even though many scenes were shot on studio sets, some were to be shot at the most beautiful locations in the west. This setup and storyline have given us many classics which are still popular and in high demand. Even today, the same story is used sometimes and still the movie turns out to be a good product.
One of the most popular western movies made in the sixties is “The Magnificent Seven” which depicted the fights for the rights of townsfolk as the bad guys were not ready to leave. Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen gave a marvellous performance in this movie and were very well appreciated by the audience. Another flick of this decade which was as popular as this one is “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" starring Clint Eastwood who later had a far-famed career in the film industry. This movie was directed by an Italian named Sergio Leone who later directed two more movies with Clint Eastwood. Those two movies called "For a Few Dollars More" and "A Fist Full of Dollars" has now become everlasting classics and many people are familiar with their names.
If we talk about the recent days then the name that pops out suddenly is “Young Guns” which was able to entertain the audience well and got the fame which a good western movie deserves. Another related story of this kind was told in the movie called “Unforgiven” which was about an aging gun fighter who was mean to the people especially when he was drunk.
Thus, it can be said that if you like to watch western movies, there is a pool of options out there waiting for you to pick them up. With today’s advanced technology it is very easy to watch movies online or download them to be watched later. These newly developed methods are now very common and they save money and time as well.
