Six Sigma is a management technique that aims to develop and provide products and services close to perfection. The bias that Six Sigma is only useful for problems that are "hard to find but easy to fix" has often been argued, as opposed to the radical approach to restructuring (reengineering), whose supporters are focused on problems that are "easy to find, but difficult to correct."

The term “Six Sigma "refers to statistical constructs that measure how far a given process deviates from perfection. Six Sigma was originally developed by Motorola in 1986 and now it is one of the widely used business strategies for improving the customer satisfaction, removing errors, defects in manufacturing and other business processes.

Six Sigma Project Methodologies
Six sigma projects follow two methodologies in order to increase the productivity and minimizing the defects along with the cost.

1. DMAIC – DMAIC six sigma is used for improving the existing business processes.
2. DMADV or DFSS – Used for creating new products or business processes designs.

Both DMAIC and DMADV or DFSS modules uses 5 phases for successful execution.
